Description
Crystal Red is an aquarium hybrid Black Bee Shrimp that is simply a color morph that is herbivorous in nature. In the aquarium, it will do best in a well-planted tank with moss & plants like baby tears, riccia, etc. This will provide your CRS with biofilm for them to eat, but they may eventually need to be provided with other foods such as algae wafers, shrimp pellets, or veggies like zucchini and spinach or other foods that will contain some protein.
Crystal Red is a small peaceful shrimp. It is best not to keep any other members of the Caridina family unless trying to crossbreed. CRS can be kept with Neocaridina and other shrimp outside of the Caridina genus without crossing. They can be kept in a community tank but shouldn’t be kept with aggressive or nippy fish obviously. CRS is a color morph of the Crystal Black or Black Bee Shrimp, however both have different grades.
